Michaela is an experienced practitioner with 22 years working with children and families. Michaela worked as a Parent Support Advisor with Local Authority Extended Services working with families and children from diverse communities, co-delivering parenting courses in schools and children centres. Michaela has created various projects for Liverpool East Schools including Cyber Safety, Keep Fit, Healthy Cooking and Fuel for Learning Breakfast Workshops.
On leaving school Michaela originally trained as a Chef and a Food and Beverage Manager at catering college; good food and nutrition has always been at the heart of her passions. Changing direction in her career in 1993 towards working with children and families meant wherever she could encompass a healthy diet and cookery into parenting courses in the schools and colleges where she has taught. Michaela is competent in understanding school’s requirements to be able to serve their diverse communities and meet with the requirements of the current Food and Nutrition Curriculum. Apple of my Eye is a realisation of a lifelong dream to get children and adults involved in the excitement and fun of the world of food.

Michelle has 12 years’ experience as a Learning Support Assistant in Key stages 1 and 2. During her time within the educational setting, she was involved in the running of after school clubs and promoting the Healthy Schools programme; teaching healthy diets, lifestyles and general well-being of children.
Whilst travelling in the Caribbean, Michelle volunteered in a local children’s home and raised funds to support their learning. From working with the children, Michelle became more confident and appreciated the rewards of teaching.
Michelle’s passion for cooking has grown since having children of her own, always trying out different recipes on her family and encouraging them to try new dishes. Recognising the importance of cookery and healthy living, Michelle is extremely enthusiastic to teach children that it’s part of our everyday life and it can be fun to cook!

Sehareen has been married for 22 years and lives in Rochdale Greater Manchester.
She is an extremely proud mother of 4 amazing teenagers aged 20,19,18,17. Sehareen started her career in health as counter assistant in a community pharmacy 1997.
Sehareen Completed Pharmaceutical science in 2004 and registered with RPS (Royal Pharmaceutical Society) 2004 as a pharmacy technician. 2007 progressed to Pharmaceutical Management and was accredited as a Checking Technician in 2015.
Sehareen trained and accredited as Healthy living Champion for Rochdale area in 2015. Her duties include (Health & Nutrition, mental & physical wellbeing, Health Improvement, Signposting for patients, Brief intervention and counselling)
Sehareen has worked in community pharmacy for 19 years. Her main role is focused on health and pharmaceutical management but overall involves providing patients with accurate supply of prescription medicines with advice,advice to patients on lifestyle,healthy choices and dietry advice,compliance and understanding, undertaking clinics for weight management, bp monitoring,cholesterol testing and smoking cessation.
Sehareen is a passionate and keen cook and started as a child helping her mother in the kitchen. This passion for cooking grew as she shadowed her own mother in the kitchen where everything was always cooked from scratch and take aways were unheard of!!
Nowadays when away from the pharmacy loves nothing more than spending time cooking for the family..currys..biryani’s..
Early Years Advisor and Primary Food Technician
Claire Guy has nearly 20 years of experience in the food industry.
Her roles have been varied which has helped her to gain vast experience in food, cooking, catering and nutrition.
Claire managed and catered for the varied dietary requirements of a Residential Home for elderly residents. Whilst in this role, Claire undertook her NVQ level 1 & 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking at Hugh Baird College, whilst also gaining experience within the College restaurant and catering departments.
Claire has worked and gained valuable experience in a children’s nursery preparing high nutritional, varied meals and snacks for young children.
A different type of role beckoned Claire gaining experience in Delicatessen Foods where customer service along with food preparation gave Claire a new dimension to her food skills and experience.
Claire is passionate about cooking healthy varied meals to meet her family’s dietary requirements. Now Claire is ready and happy to be sharing her vast knowledge and skills within Apple of my eye’s fantastic team helping to encourage and educate children through participation and interaction the importance of a healthy diet whilst making learning about food FUN.
Administration and School Bookings Co-ordinator
Mat realised his enjoyment and passion towards cooking and nutrition after working as a cook for Wirral Borough Council. His initial role within the council was a catering assistant and because of his attitude and skills he soon gained employment in a school preparing food and cooking meals for over 200 children.
After working with the council some years, Mat decided to change his kitchen whites for a school uniform. He has worked as a teaching assistant for Liverpool City Council since 2014. With the knowledge of how children learn and the skills he acquired in his previous role, Mat understands the importance of a healthy lifestyle, good quality food, the hygiene required for preparing foods and most importantly making these sessions fun and educational for the children in an interactive and engaging way.
Mat now maps across his skills and experience to efficiently assist with the administration of bookings and events for the company. He is passionate about offering excellent customer service and delivering your needs as an educational setting.
