Michaela is an experienced practitioner with 22 years working with children and families. Michaela worked as a Parent Support Advisor with Local Authority Extended Services working with families and children from diverse communities, co-delivering parenting courses in schools and children centres. Michaela has created various projects for Liverpool East Schools including Cyber Safety, Keep Fit, Healthy Cooking and Fuel for Learning Breakfast Workshops.
On leaving school Michaela originally trained as a Chef and a Food and Beverage Manager at catering college; good food and nutrition has always been at the heart of her passions. Changing direction in her career in 1993 towards working with children and families meant wherever she could encompass a healthy diet and cookery into parenting courses in the schools and colleges where she has taught. Michaela is competent in understanding school’s requirements to be able to serve their diverse communities and meet with the requirements of the current Food and Nutrition Curriculum. Apple of my Eye is a realisation of a lifelong dream to get children and adults involved in the excitement and fun of the world of food.

All of our experienced School Food Advisors, Workshop Leaders, Food Technicians, Administrators and placement students possess enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service. They are also required to have Level 2 Food Safety and Allergen Certificates.
Our team pride themselves on working closely with all of our settings to give the children in our schools, nurseries and community groups a tailored service to meet their requirements.
